So today I ran into the first obstacle to my daily hour of practice. I had to take my car in for service and it was expected to be done between 3 and 4! Shoot! That's my dance time! Not to be daunted, I moved my dance time from 1-2 and rushed through my housework before hand. I had a good hour of practice including nearly 10 minutes of chaine turns, and a few minutes of shimmies while petting Daisy the corgi, because she was scared of the thunderstorm.
Then I went to class and had the most physically difficult class ever -- nearly an hour of levels. Oh, my poor quads. By the end, my legs were shaking uncontrollably. And I still had another hour-long class to get through! I'm afraid of the pain tomorrow will bring. But I also feel good, because I love being able to rise to a physical challenge like that, and I did some things that I thought I wouldn't be able to.

Level changes
Day 106 of practice.
Ok, I am so using the new song for my solo next week! It's called "Convivio" by Unto Ashes and it is seriously beautiful. The lyrics are from Il Convivio by Dante, but the music has a very Middle Eastern sound to it. I'm really enjoying the ability to switch tempos, and throw in level changes! I practiced it twice today, once spontaneously when it came on while I was cleaning, and once just now, in the tiny spot of my living room that is currently taken up by the gaming table or the discarded belongings of my gaming group.
Also today I practiced some shimmy drills, some tray balancing, and some arm isolations, plus dancing while cleaning. And I plan to run my solo one more time before bed, after all the gamers have left and I can reclaim my living room!

Nnngggkkk, tired
Day 41 of practice.
I'm not even sure what sort of noise that is, it just seems to fit. I am really, really tired from my 2 hours of dance class and close to 4 hours of driving, thanks to traffic and road construction.
Class was fun, however. We learned a long slow combo, which involved a level change/drop. We also did lots and lots and lots of fast turns and spins, so that I spent most of class slightly dizzy.
Unfortunately, the beading on my new belt started to come unwoven. Fortunately, I am a beadworker, so I should be able to stop it from further coming undone.
